Position Summary:
The position organizes, schedules, coordinates and monitors a PSAV Automotive Collision Technology Technician program to ensure effective operations and activities in compliance with state and federal standards and guidelines. In addition, provides instruction for certain programs, prepares required reports, and maintains records.
Job Duties:
• Organizes, schedules, coordinates and monitors the post-secondary adult vocational program to ensure effective operations and activities in compliance with state and federal standards and guidelines.
• Organizes, schedules and coordinates facilities, equipment, materials and activities ensure adequate supplies and equipment available. Ensures proper maintenance of facilities and equipment. • Monitors, verifies, administers and records standardized examinations in accordance with standards and guidelines. • Monitors all phases of ongoing programs and prepares and submits reports to ensure adherence to all standards and guidelines. • Interviews, screens and makes recommendations to hire certified instructors. May also provide instructional support for program(s). • Evaluates instructors, courses and curriculum to ensure effective program provided for students. • Solicits input from outside agencies regarding courses needed for program certification or to enhance program offerings. • Acts as liaison to local outside agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position prefers a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of prior-related work experience in technical inspection and testing of metals or welding or at least a High School diploma or GED equivalent if substituting work experience for education. Technical certification and/or licensure also may be required for some programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
A current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in B2 – B5 or an I-CAR Platinum certification as an ADAS Technician, Damage Appraiser, Electrical Diagnostics Technician, Estimator, Mechanical Technician, Non-Structural Technician, Structural Technician, and Refinishing Technician is preferred.
Prefer applicants with:
(1) broad knowledge of welding applications, procedures, specifications, industry codes and standards, and applied metallurgy,
(2) experience with Painting, Refinishing, Non-Structural Analysis, Damage Repair, Structural Analysis, Mechanical and Electrical Components.
(3) effective oral and written communication skills,
(4) computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook),
(5) demonstrated leadership skills,
(6) strong organizational skills and attention to detail
(7) established customer service background and
(8) adult vocational teaching experience.
