Position Summary:

• Create and manage all aspects of mechanical design on past, present, and future products from creation to high volume manufacturing. This includes but is not limited to the following.
  • Water Jet
  • CNC Machine Fixture Creation
  • CNC Programming
  • CNC Engraving
  • Creation of Press Brake Tooling
  • Press Brake Bending
  • Go/No Go Welding Fixtures
  • Metal Forming
  • Laser Imbedded Table Fixtures & Printing (LIT Technology)

• Develop detailed SolidWorks drawings for component designs.
• Develop complete assembly files for vendors, jobbers, in-house manufacturing, and strategic partners.
• Validate designs and troubleshoot potential issues when inspecting 1^st article samples.
• Assist in developing work instructions for production, purchasing and marketing departments.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• 2 years design experience with SolidWorks
• 2 years professional experience
• Knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, the Automotive Industry REQUIRED, experience in the automotive aftermarket a plus.
• A strong degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to follow written instructions and to work with little to no supervision.
• Familiar with Lean manufacturing and 5S principles and concepts
• Material properties knowledge
• Experience with machining processes
