The Shock Assembly Technician will perform several tasks related to the production and assembly of shock absorbers and related components.
Cleans and prepares parts and sub-assemblies for assembly of shocks.
Assembles components by placing parts in specified relationship to each other following the Bill of Materials for each assembly.
Bolts, clips, or otherwise fastens parts together during sub-assembly operation.
Performs visual and mechanical inspection of parts, sub-assemblies for defects and other quality issues.
Performs production line duties such as manual lifting, labeling, and put away based per specifications in designated locations.
Utilizes power lifting equipment: pallet jack, forklift, stand-up, etc., as applicable.
Reports quality issues to lead and/or supervisor.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area, and monitors equipment to ensure it is in good condition and operational.
Follows safety procedures and notifies management of any observed safety risk or hazard.
Ability to lift or move items up to 60 lbs.
General knowledge of hand tools and machine operation.
General automotive knowledge, desirable.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, and other written instructions in English
Attention to detail and high commitment to accuracy.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience:
HS Diploma/GED required with minimum 3-6 months’ experience in warehouse or manufacturing, automotive shop or relevant combination of education and experience.
Forklift Certification required – sit down PIT.
Certificate from automotive technical school or vocational school, desirable.
