Position Summary: The Distribution Manager will have primary responsibility for the strategic and day-to-day management of the finished goods warehouse and Shipping Department, ensuring that warehouse configuration and shipping processes are defined and implemented for optimal efficiency of aFe product distribution.
Roles & Responsibilities and Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Ensures accurate, timely and effective shipping processes.
Manages projects related to warehouse configuration and work-flow design to align with corporate growth strategy.
Plans, implements and supervises operational flow and personnel for finished goods and shipping.
Oversees carrier management processes such as selection, qualification, contract oversight, budget analysis and evaluation.
Develops shipping department personnel in roles or responsibilities.
Collaborates with internal departments to resolve issues concerning transportation, imports / exports, or customer shipping.
Prepares and presents oral and written reports on assigned metrics including but not limited to ship-able dollars as assigned.
Provides departmental status updates regarding strategy and issue escalation/resolution for executive review.
Develops visible procedures, key performance indicators (KPI) and measurements to monitor quality and determine effectiveness of existing process.
Meets or exceeds established goals for on-time delivery and shipping accuracy for customer shipments.
Reviews and designs system and physical improvements to ensure process efficiency.
Provides warehouse safety leadership and is responsible for improved safety performance in the facility
Advanced knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes and systems.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ERP / WMS systems
Excellent written and verbal communication with proficiency in MS Office environment
Intermediate to advanced project management skills; demonstrated ability to build teams and promote collaboration.
Ability to develop, coach and manage personnel.
Advanced organization and prioritization skills in a fast paced environment.
Valid Driver's License, clean MVR and forklift certification, preferred.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field preferred, with 5-10 years progressive experience in shipping / logistics role in distribution facility or warehouse within consumer products industry; 3-5 years in supervisory / management capacity; or relevant combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience with growth transition, space optimization and design, workflow and process implementation and experience in scaling operation, moving warehouse or set-up of new FG warehouse operation, highly preferred.
