What You’ll Do
As an Automotive Mechanical Claims Specialist, you’ll contribute to the profitability of the Ally Insurance Team by providing policy assistance and technical claim support on the vehicle service contract program and other insurance programs (GAP, Tire & Wheel, etc.). You’ll have a passion and understanding for all things automotive and mechanical! You’ll be communicating with repair facilities to acquire pertinent repair information as well as responding to inbound calls and written correspondence from customers, repair facilities and financial institutions to assist with policy administration and claim inquiries. More importantly, you’ll achieve customer satisfaction while doing this! You’ll document all customer interactions and decisions while following all internal, state and UDAAP guidelines as well as perform clerical, administrative and technically based activities and/or supporting tasks.
The hours of operation for this group are Monday through Friday from 7:00am-7:00pm. Your shift can fall anywhere in these hours (i.e., 7:00am-4:00pm, 8:00am-5:00pm, 9:00am-6:00pm, etc.). You do need the flexibility to work a possible Saturday shift or extended hours when needed.
What You’ll Need
HS diploma or equivalent required.
2 + years' experience in automotive repair industry. Associates or Bachelors degree in business or other related fields may be used as a proxy for the experience.
Strong mechanical background with ability to communicate effectively with repair facilities to acquire pertinent information (you will be required to complete an exam regarding your mechanical knowledge as part of the interview process).
Ability to negotiate and make quick decisions.
The ability to type at least 40 WPM.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
