Established manufacturer of aftermarket suspension and billet styling for trucks and jeeps is looking to add a talented and experienced Suspension and/or Billet Accessories Engineer to our staff. Engineers are responsible and accountable for creating new products that meet ReadyLIFT’s highest quality standards while fitting a particular brands DNA in a fast-paced timeline with the overall goal of first to market. Engineers are responsible for overseeing the design project from kick-off to completion, using solid organizational skills to facilitate the design, construction, testing, and validation of prototype kits utilizing SolidWorks modeling capabilities and in-house fabrication capabilities.
Under general direction of a higher level engineer or manager, the primary responsibility of this position is to design, plan, test, and coordinate multiple processes of product development used in automotive suspension design and application. Suspension & Accessories Engineer will lead various size projects and apply engineering expertise, knowledge of products and industries, and project management capabilities to solve engineering problems. These efforts can be applied to short or long-term projects, including prototype development, product development and testing assistance, engineering analysis and customer service issue resolution.

Responsibilities will include:
Develop a wide array of suspension systems and components as well as billet aluminum products.
Act as team lead to successfully execute project. Plan and coordinate activities to maintain schedules and meet targets.
Make 3D layouts and release 2D drawings and specifications using SolidWorks and applicable MS Office software.
Understand and promote corporate strategies and objectives.
Understand customer products and processes, and investigate and develop new application areas.
In conjunction with Sales & Marketing, determine technical and business needs, value to customer, available budget, and timing constraints.
Assess technical requirements of projects, determine available resources, develop project plan, and determine cost and pricing strategies.
Create all engineering documentation to approved standards.
Limited travel as necessary.
Perform technical support activities in support of Sales and CSR efforts.

Successful candidate is likely to possess some of the following:
Automotive product development/knowledge base, with understanding of common industry standards, ASME, ANSI, and GD&T
Possess an understanding for in-house and outsourced manufacturing techniques. Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, gauge design and build associated with an automotive manufacturing environment.
Understand and apply Engineering Guidelines, clearances, etc.
Proficiency in hardware and assemblies required specific to automotive applications.
Basic knowledge of materials/hardware and appropriate applications.
Understanding of common ride control attributes and suspension dynamics.
Experience designing suspension systems and familiar with aluminum design and creation.
Review and interface with CSR for warranty data and initiate and coordinate actions internally to improve quality.
Fabrication experience with experience in CNC machining, i.e. shop experience.
3D & 2D CAD experience.
Experience with complex BOM structures.
Other specialty software: Photoshop, Illustrator, Mastercam, CNC machining, etc.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineer, Industrial/Product Design or equivalent from an accredited or equivalent program, and/or automotive trade experience with expertise in suspension design, fabrication, and manufacturing.
Minimum 4-8 professional years in experience preferred.
Experience with vehicle or suspension engineering preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills, project planning, report writing, and presentation of results.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and MS Office products.
Strong project management skills.
Required license or certification: Valid driver’s license
